Born Free Twins-Breech Gathering 

This experience caters specifically to active midwives and obstetricians. However, at past events, childbirth educators, doulas, chiropractors, and others have attended and have really enjoyed the experience! We do hope that - as adults- all participants can realize that in order for vaginal breech to be practiced in your communities, active birthworkers (i.e. those who are the primary attendants attending to birthing families) be given priority access to the simulators. Be cool. 

As in all of our convenings, faith is welcomed but not performative, and this convening isn’t about fitting into traditional molds. This conference celebrates divine embodiment, sacred agency, and spiritual liberation in birth. Christians are not disallowed nor privileged in the space, all faiths and believe systems are expected to co-exist in the pedagogy of Born Free Twins-Breech, which is radically inclusive, not exclusive.

As with prior Born Free Twins-Breech gatherings, we pull all the stops when it comes to offering quality meals throughout the event. We will do our best to have vegetarian options available, but if you have important dietary restrictions (e.g. gluten-free), you may want to consider packing extra snacks and even consider alternatives to the meals. While we try to accommodate every participant's needs, this is often very challenging for a group of 100 people all of whom are unique with unique needs. 

After early bird, no discounts will be available. Because we pay for all of our speakers' travel and accommodations in additions to generous honoraria, we have to maximize revenue through ticket sales. We do have a limited number of scholarships. If you are interested in applying for a scholarship, please email [email protected]. If you are unable to afford this year's event, you might consider purchasing the package of presentation recordings that will be made available after the event. 

Even though we cannot guarantee a scholarship for everyone who needs one, we respect everyones need to enter this work all at different points and are doing our best to alleviate any barriers to learning. At this time, we are prioritizing the financial needs of practicing midwives.

Yes! As with previous years, you can earn ACNM-accredited continuing education units (CEUs) by attending in-person or by reviewing the recordings after the event has concluded. Attending in-person, you will have the opportunity to earn 20+ CEUs (application in process). We are also working with NARM to have these CEUs qualify ahead of the event for the bridge program. (Special thanks to Fadwah Halaby for supporting us through the application process for these CEUs!)

We are creating an intentionally sacred space of healing and support for our staff, presenters, and guests. This will include burning incense and palo santo in honor of ritual and presence. Accessibility is a shared practice. Lucky Arrow is a loving, compassionate space, and we deeply believe in disability justice: supporting mobility, rest, infant feeding, and other needs. This year, we ask every adult to take ownership of their agency, move intentionally, care for yourself, and help sustain an inclusive environment. We’ll do our best to provide access and support, but true inclusivity happens when we all participate step up, support one other, and help us co-create a space that’s generative, radical, and welcoming for all.
